Each year, on the Remembrance Sunday, (the Sunday closest to 11th November), there is a civic Service of Remembrance. It begins with a march of the uniformed organisations from Bell Street Car Park to the War Memorial, where wreaths are laid and there is a period of silence and prayers. This is followed by a service in Great St Mary's Church.
